Because the stars are a lie we tell ourselves to feel small in a way that is beautiful. The void is the truth: vast, indifferent, and hungry. We do not build worlds to escape it. We build worlds to stare back at it.

  • Lead Designer — 8 years in AAA. 14 rejected GDDs. He built the foundation of our world on the bones of what they told him was "too risky."
  • Senior Narrative Writer — Her script was called "too bleak" by three publishers. She turned that rejection into the lore of a universe that remembers every death.
  • Technical Director — He optimized the loading screens so well that players started calling them "the descent." He leaned into it. Now every load is a ritual.
  • Art Director — She designed vistas so empty that players reported feeling watched. She calls it "claustrophobia in the open."
